Claudia X. Wendell, M.D.

Dr. Claudia Wendell was born in Colombia, South America, where she completed medical school. During her internship, she was accepted to the William J. Harrington Medical Training Program at the University of Miami, where each year thousands of Latin American medical students apply for placement and 30 students are invited to do clinical rotations.
After obtaining her degree and all requirements for an international graduate, she moved to Oklahoma where she completed her Family Medicine Residency at The University of Oklahoma in 2006.
She worked as a family physician at Primary Care Associates in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and after the birth of their second child, her and her husband decided to relocate to Wichita, her husband's home town.
In 2008 Dr. Wendell took a position with Via Christi Clinic, where she worked until 2016.
Dr. Wendell is fluent in English and Spanish, and while she enjoys the challenges and variety that Family Medicine brings, she has a special interest in preventive medicine, pediatrics and women's health.
Dr. Wendell enjoys being and active parishioner at her church as well as a volunteering at her children's school and the God's food pantry. She loves traveling with her family and dancing. Her hobbies include reading, puzzles and beekeeping.
